Applications for Australia Awards scholarships in Bangladesh are being accepted from qualified candidates. The scholarship allows for Masters-level programs in any subject taught at Australian universities.

Scholarship Benefits:

The Australia Awards will focus on assisting Bangladesh in achieving health security, stability, and economic recovery by strengthening government systems, improving policymaking in priority sectors, improving economic governance, and developing trade and business capabilities.

Australia Awards Scholarships are available for the minimum time required to complete the academic program specified by the Australian educational institution, including any preparatory training. The following items will be given to scholarship recipients:

  • return air travel
  • a one-time establishment allowance upon arrival
  • full tuition fees, and a contribution toward living expenses
  • introductory academic program for international students health insurance for the duration of the scholarship
  • additional academic support field work allowance for research students and Master’s by coursework students with a required fieldwork component

Scholarship Eligibility:

Applicants for Australia Awards must meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the Australia Awards Scholarships Policy Handbook. Beginning of studies Scholarships for study beginning in 2023 must be taken up in 2023 unless deferred by the program or due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Country-specific circumstances Candidates from Bangladesh must also meet the following conditions in addition to the eligibility requirements:

  • be a Bangladeshi citizen residing in Bangladesh and applying for a scholarship from Bangladesh
  • At any time during the application, selection, or mobilization phases, you must not be married, engaged to, or a de facto of someone who holds, or is eligible to hold
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
    not be currently serving in the military
  • not be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency in Australia, or be applying for a visa to live permanently in Australia
Work experience/qualifications
  • Have completed a tertiary level qualification that is at least equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Australia. o For applicants who completed all of their degrees in Bangladesh, at least one degree must be from a University Grants Commission-accredited university (Bangladesh).
  • Candidates applying for courses that build on their previous study and full-time relevant work experience will be given priority. o Years in Groups 1 and 4: three Groups 2 and 3: 5 years.
  • Scholarships are generally not available for courses of study in Australia where the applicant has already obtained that qualification and the qualification is deemed equivalent to the Australian qualification. Special circumstances In addition, applicants must meet the following country-specific requirements:
  • After finishing their studies, scholarship recipients must return to Bangladesh for at least two years.
  • All Scholarship recipients from Bangladesh will be asked to provide proof of prior learning. If this request is granted, the recipient may be placed in a degree program that is less than four years long.
