The Australian POTS Foundation PhD Top-up funding for Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, New Zealand nationals, and international students has been officially announced by the University of Adelaide. The funding program is offered for the academic years 2022–2023.

This is an exceptional opportunity for PhD candidates. This award provides $5,000 annually for a maximum of three years. In Australia, successful candidates will be awarded a total of up to $15,000.

Scholarship Benefit

All of the following will be offered by the University of Adelaide:

  • The award consists of $5,000 per year for a maximum of three years.
  • A commitment of up to $15,000 per successful applicant.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Australia, New Zealand, and International Countries are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Subjects or Courses: The award will be granted in any discipline offered by the university.
  • Admissible Criteria: To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Enrolled full-time in a PhD program at a university in Australia.
  • Living in Australia for the whole of their PhD studies.
  • A recipient of an Australian Government RTP grant or NHMRC scholarship, or a recipient of a similar award.
  • Applicants must have completed no more than 18 months of their PhD program at the time of application. (Payments will be prorated proportionately)

How to apply

  • How to Apply: First, applicants must be accepted into the University. After that, they can fill out an online form for this funding program and mail in the necessary applications to research-at-potsfoundation.org.au.
  • Documents to Back It Up: To finish the process, the following papers must be sent with the application:
  • 1 copy of your official school record
  • Proof that your PhD RTP grant or something similar has been approved.
  • Recommendation letter from the person who will or already is your PhD supervisor
  • Proof of an offer letter or registration in a PhD program at an Australian university.
  • Admissions Requirements: Before applying, students should look over the admissions requirements for the program they want to join.
  • Language requirement: Students must know how to speak and write English well.
