Delsu Resumption Date-This is to inform the university community, especially staff and students, that the Delta State University, Abraka, has approved the re-opening of academic activities.
200L and 300L Undergraduate and Diploma students are to resume on Monday, 2nd of November 2020, for the completion of their second semester with two weeks revision and two weeks of examination.
As Nigeria becomes 60 today, the Students Union Government is wishing every Delsuite a Happy Independence Day celebration. The development of this nation is not the responsibility of the government alone, we all have a part to play. We therefore urge every Delsuite to make conscious effort to be part of nation building, while fostering peaceful co-existence.
It is our hope and prayer that we will sooner than expected, be where we ought to be as nation. Happy New Month.
The Students’ Union Government is currently in talks with the University Management with hope of extending the two weeks of revision that has been stipulated, so as to enable Delsuites prepare properly for the second semester examination.
We therefore urge our dear students to remain calm and continue their preparation towards resumption of academic activities. Covid-19 guidelines will be communicated ahead of resumption. We can’t wait to have you all back on campus.

More Information on Delsu Resumption
This is to inform the university community, particularly staff and students that Management at its special meeting held on Thursday September 17, 2020 has decided as follows:
1. The university would re-open in phases as indicated here under.
- Monday 5th October, 2020 Postgraduate, Graduating (400 & 500 levels) and 100 level students would resume for academic activities for completion of the second semester with two weeks for revision and two weeks examinations.
- Monday 16th November, 2020 – 200 and 300 level students including Diploma students would resume with two weeks of revision and two weeks for examinations.
2. All members of staff are to resume work immediately in preparation for resumption of academic activities scheduled for Monday 5th October, 2020. Please note that all categories of staff are to resume work at 8:00 am, and close at 4:00pm.
Delsu Calender for 2020/2021 Academical Session
This is to inform Students of the prestigious Delta State University, Abraka, that the University Management has released an academic calendar for Second Semester.
Lecture for final year and 100L students will begin Monday 5th of October as earlier scheduled, but will now end Friday, 30th of October. Examination begins Monday, 2nd of November.
Resumption for other levels and Diploma students will now be on Sunday, 15th of November 2020, with lectures starting the next day. Their examination begins Monday, 14th of December, 2020.
The Students Union Government urges Delsuites to take note of these changes. We cannot wait to have you all back on campus.
The attention of the Students’ Union Government have been brought to an account details meant for payment of Delsu Covid-19 Fee.
The Union wishes to inform Delsuites to totally disregard the account details, as it is orchestrated by fraudsters.
Payment of Covid-19 fee has not yet been decided by Management. Immediately the decision is reached, it will be published in the University’s official bulletin, and communicated by the Students’ Union.
Delsuites living in the university hostels that Halls of Residence shall be opened to students from Sunday, 4th of October 2020.
Admittance into the Halls of Residence shall be restricted to Post Graduate, Final Year and 100L students ONLY.
Other students that have 100L courses as carry-over are expected to obtain clearance from the Students Affairs Division before being re-admitted into the hostel.
Submission of Memoranda for Onward Review of the University Existing Regulations in Relation to Staff and Students
The University community, particularly staff and students have been requested to forward a written representation/memoranda to the recently constituted Ad-hoc committee for the review of the university existing regulations as they affect the general wellbeing of staff and students.\
Interested staff and students should address their memoranda to the secretary of the Committee and forward same to the Council Secretariat, Site II, Abraka, on or before Monday, 21st September, 2020.
