Concordia University is a public, comprehensive, English-language research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The institution was founded in 1974 as a result of the merging of Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. It is one of three universities in Quebec where English is the predominant medium of instruction (the other two are McGill and Bishop’s).

Concordia University is a non-sectarian, coeducational college with a global alumni base of approximately 230,000. The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the International Association of Universities, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries, the Canadian University Society for Intercollegiate Debate, the Canadian Bureau for International Education, and the Canadian University Press are all members of the university.
The university’s original institutions date back more than 160 years. Concordia University was founded on August 24, 1974, when Loyola College (1896) and Sir George Williams University merged (1926). The Merit Scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering will be awarded in the following order: 95-100 percent acceptance rate = $5,000, 90-94.9 percent acceptance rate = $4,000.
Eligibility for Merit Scholarships at the Faculty of Engineering
- To be qualified for Faculty of Engineering Merit Scholarships, you must be an international student.
- Applicants must be studying full-time in an undergraduate degree program to be qualified.
- To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have 95 and 100% ($5,000) or between 90 and 94.9% ($4,000). Candidates must be enrolled full-time, for the first time, in an undergraduate program at the Faculty of Engineering.
