“Put God First” – this watchword has guided Victor Ijomah throughout his journey. With gratitude to God Almighty for His grace and provision, Victor attributes the success and impact of myDelsu to divine guidance and blessing at every step.

The Journey

Victor Ijomah’s path to founding myDelsu begins with his experience as a student facing the challenges of higher education with limited resources. When misinformation online prevented his admission to Delta State University despite high scores, Victor didn’t just accept it as an unfortunate circumstance; he saw a problem that needed solving.

As a mathematics student at DELSU, Victor experienced firsthand the obstacles that many students from modest backgrounds encounter. Unable to afford textbooks, he meticulously created comprehensive summaries of course materials. When he couldn’t pay for photocopies of past questions, he painstakingly wrote them down by hand, along with detailed solutions. Each document bore his signature, a mark that would become recognised across campus as a symbol of reliable academic support.

From Necessity to Innovation

Victor’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged from necessity. To support himself through school, he developed multiple skills:

  • Artist: Creating portrait drawings for fellow students
  • Painter: Taking on house painting projects to earn income
  • Web Developer: Self-taught programming skills that opened new opportunities

His reputation for quality and reliability grew beyond just academic resources. During the tenure of DELSU Vice-Chancellor Egwuyenga, Victor was contracted to grow the university’s social media presence, a testament to his emerging digital expertise.

Educational Growth

After graduating from Delta State University with a degree in Mathematics, Victor continued his educational journey internationally, earning a degree in Digital Marketing from the University of Chester in the United Kingdom. This expanded his vision and provided new perspectives on how to better serve the DELSU community.

Vision and Values

At the core of Victor’s work is a deeply personal understanding of the challenges facing students, particularly those from backgrounds without financial privilege. His vision for myDelsu extends beyond just providing information; it’s about creating equal opportunity through access to knowledge and resources.

Victor believes that:

  • Putting God first in all endeavors provides the foundation for lasting impact
  • No student should be disadvantaged by lack of access to information
  • Quality education should be accessible regardless of financial background
  • Students helping students creates the strongest community
  • Technology can and should be leveraged to solve educational challenges

Continuing Impact

Today, Victor continues to drive myDelsu’s mission forward, leveraging his international education and expanding network of collaborators. He remains personally connected to the platform’s development, ensuring it stays true to its founding purpose while continually evolving to meet new student needs.

Through myDelsu, Victor’s personal experience has transformed into a resource that empowers thousands of students to overcome similar challenges and succeed in their academic journeys.

“My own struggles showed me what needed to be fixed. With God’s grace, myDelsu exists because every student deserves accurate information and accessible resources to succeed, regardless of where they come from or what they can afford. In all things, I put God first, and He continues to make a way.” – Victor Ijomah
