Scholarship Description:

The University of Strathclyde’s Strathclyde Business School is giving an International Undergraduate Performance Sport Scholarship to international students. The scholarship is designed to allow outstanding student-athletes who compete on an international level on a regular basis to pursue a dual career.

Degree Level:

Strathclyde Business School in Glasgow UK International Undergraduate Performance Sport Scholarships 2022 is available to undertake Undergraduate level programs at University of Strathclyde.

Available Subjects:

The following categories of study are open to students who are awarded funding through this particular scholarship program.

Scholarship Benefits:

Performance Sport Scholars are provided with a comprehensive support package equating to a cash equivalent of up to £5,750 per year.

Eligible Nationalities:

All Nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be competing in a Sport Scotland-recognized sport, and priority will be given to students competing in a BUCS-sport who can demonstrate the potential to contribute toward the University’s objective of being ranked in the top 20 in the UK. In addition, all applicants should be competing at least at Junior, if not senior, International level.

Furthermore, we actively encourage students competing at an elite level within disability sport and our new £31m Sports Facility is fully-accessible.

English language requirements:

We accept a number of English language tests as proof of proficiency in English. IELTS is the most widely available. Information on this can be found on the British Council Website.

Our current standard requirements are:

  • IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
  • Faculty of Science: IELTS (Academic): 6.0 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)
  • Department of Design, Manufacturing & Engineering Management: IELTS (Academic): 6.0 overall (no individual band less than 5.5)

Some degree programmes have different English language requirements to the above so please check each individual course page for details.

University preparation programmes.

International students who do not meet their main degree academic requirements have the option of studying undergraduate or postgraduate university preparation programmes at the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre. Upon successful completion, students will be able to progress to degree level study at Strathclyde.

We offer a number of English Language Teaching courses which let you improve your English language level to meet your main degree language requirements without having to retake IELTS or another English language test.
