In order to pursue her love, she entered the United Kingdom version of The X Factor and made it all the way to the final 24. However, she was eliminated from the competition as the 12th contestant overall in the TV talent show.
2009 marked the year that she signed her first publishing agreement, which she secured with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The contract gave her the opportunity to create songs for artists such as Babyface, Kat Deluna, Fantasia, Monica, and Maa.
