Complete List of All Private, State & Federal Universities Under ASUU

Here is a complete list of all private, state and Federal Universities that are under ASUU, we also took out time to categorize these universities in the best way possible for your understanding.

There is one trend that literally all students who are either enrolled in or seeking to further their education in any university in Nigeria are aware of:

The ASUU strike. In reality, strikes are not only common in universities; polytechnics also go on strike too.

Let’s take a step further;

ASUU Strike Update

ASUUThe continual strikes by universities result in students studying for longer periods of time, so a student who was originally admitted to pursue a four-year degree course, may end up studying for six (6) to seven (7) years.

Surely, the student must be dissatisfied with his or her extended stay in school.

As a result, most students would prefer to study in schools where they can enjoy uninterrupted study duration (that is, you spend five (5) years studying a five-year course rather than six (6)).

This is only possible if your school is not affiliated with the body that enforces the strike, popularly known as ASUU.

Unfortunately, ASUU-affiliated universities outnumber non-affiliated universities by a wide margin, with private universities excluded.

In this article, we will provide you with a comprehensive list of ASUU-affiliated universities to help you decide where you want to further your education.

Furthermore, whenever there is a rumor of a strike, many students may be unsure whether or not their school will participate in the strike.

If the name of your university appears on this list of ASUU-affiliated universities, you may be certain that your school will be participating in the strike action.

However, before we present you with this list of universities under ASUU, let us first discuss what ASUU is all about and what they fight for.

Well, we have a lot to talk about before answering this very popular question.

What exactly is ASUU

is delsu under asuu

As the name implies, ASUU is an acronym for Academic Staff Union of Universities, and each university has its own union of academic staff which we refer to as the University’s Chapter of ASUU.

This is why you will hear people refer to the Delta state university Academic Staff Union when they are referring to the body of ASUU in association with the school.

Even while each of these chapters can strike on its own, they all come together to form the National Body – ASUU, which is now led by its Chairman, ‘Professor Osodeke,’ in order to establish a more powerful voice.

This organization was established in the year 1978.

As a union, they fight for their members’ welfare, such as the payment of salaries and benefits to employees, and the only way they can accomplish this is through the use of strikes.

Now that you have a better understanding of the function ASUU plays at universities, allow us to walk you through the list of universities that are affiliated with ASUU.
