University of Bonn 2023 Argelander Scholarships for Doctoral Candidates from Developing Countries

In order to encourage scientific interchange with partners, particularly in areas that have been relatively marginalised in terms of scientific production, funding is being provided for PhD candidates from countries in the Global South.

To foster international cooperation in the priority regions outlined in the partnership strategy, the University of Bonn is requesting the participation of PhD candidates from Africa, South America, and Asia. The money is for a duration of between three and twelve months.

This funding line is designed to strengthen cooperation between scientists in Bonn and their partners in the aforementioned locations, as well as broaden such collaborations in terms of promoting early-career researchers.

A written or informal collaboration agreement should already exist between the doctorate candidate’s home institute and the host institute in Bonn at the time the application is submitted. The Bonn-based researchers serve as applicants.
