University of Exeter 2023 ‘Green Futures’ Postgraduate Taught Scholarships : Jusoor-Exeter Scholarships, UK
In our Green Futures Scholarships series, we are pleased to partner with Jusoor, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that provides foreign scholarships, refugee education, and entrepreneurship programmes for Syrian children and youth.
Two fully financed Jusoor-Exeter Scholarships for Master’s level study in the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy are available to Syrian and Palestinian-Syrian applicants residing in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, or Iraq for September 2023 admission.
The following one-year, full-time, campus-based Postgraduate taught degrees are eligible for these grants:

Scholarship Benefits
Full tuition fee waiver and stipend for living costs for 1 year
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration for one of these scholarships, applicants must:
- Be Syrian (or Palestinian with a Syrian Travel Passport), have resided in Syria continuously prior to the current situation, and
- Presently reside in Syria or one of its neighbouring nations (Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt)
- Apply online for a Master’s degree programme at the University of Exeter.
- Demonstrating academic merit by being offered admission to the University for September 2023 and meeting any admission requirements set by the University
- Not possess a Master’s degree
- Need financial assistance to accept an offer of admission.
- Your intent to assist to the reconstruction of Syria
- Volunteer and/or job experience that demonstrates a strong history of leadership and community involvement.
- Be willing to continue participating in Jusoor’s community.

- Step 1: Apply online for the Master’s programme of your choice from the list above for enrollment in September 2023. Please submit your application no later than March 31, 2023.
- Step 2: If you have received a conditional or unconditional admission offer, then please fill out this form to apply for the scholarship before the due date of April 28, 2023.
The application requires a 500-word maximum personal statement in response to the following questions:
- In what ways have you assisted others over the past two years?
- Your response could involve service to your family, friends, school, or neighbourhood, in addition to an NGO or charity (please provide dates, locations, and hours contributed per week as relevant).
- How do you intend to assist in the reconstruction of Syria?
- Include in your response the relevance of your chosen programme of study and any initiatives you intend to undertake through work or volunteerism.
- What would receiving a Jusoor-Exeter scholarship mean to you?
- Your response may incorporate both individual and broader benefits.
- How would you maximise your Jusoor-Exeter scholarship experience and serve as an ambassador for this scholarship programme?
- Your response may include your role in the campus community at the University of Exeter and globally in assisting Syrian students who wish to further their education.
