After Admission: Your 4-Step Fresh Student Onboarding Roadmap

1

Pay Acceptance Fee via Remita

Log into the official ECU student portal, navigate to 'Fee Payment', generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR), and pay the acceptance fee (₦30,000–₦60,000 depending on your status as indigene or non-indigene). Keep your printed receipt safe.

2

Complete Physical Clearance on Campus

Report to your faculty's clearance committee with original academic documents: JAMB Admission Letter, JAMB Result Slip, O'Level certificate (WAEC/NECO), Birth Certificate, and LGA identification. Biometric capture (fingerprint + photo) is conducted during clearance.

3

Register for Courses on the Student Portal

After clearance, log into the ECU student portal to register your 100-Level semester courses within the Senate-approved registration window. Print your course registration form and submit a copy to your department.

4

Attend Matriculation Ceremony

Matriculation is the official ceremony that formally inducts you as a student of Edwin Clark University. Attendance is strictly mandatory. Dress code (academic gown or formal attire) and venue are communicated via the official notice board and student portal.

Caution: Avoid Admission Fraud

ECU does not authorize any agents, social media admins, or cybercafes to demand payment for admission slots. Only payments made through the official portal gateway with a generated Remita/Interswitch invoice are recognized.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I have been offered admission into ECU?

Check both the official ECU admission portal and your JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) profile. A provisional admission offer will reflect on JAMB CAPS first or simultaneously with the university portal.

What is the difference between Merit and Supplementary Admission Lists?

The Merit (First Batch) list contains candidates who met the primary departmental cut-off marks and UTME requirements. Subsequent batches (Supplementary and Direct Entry) cater to candidates who changed courses or qualified in subsequent screening rounds.

How long do I have to accept my admission on JAMB CAPS?

Candidates typically have 72 hours to 2 weeks to ACCEPT or REJECT an offer on JAMB CAPS. Failure to accept before the deadline may result in the forfeiture of the admission offer.

What happens after I accept admission on JAMB CAPS?

After accepting on JAMB CAPS, print your original JAMB Admission Letter and Result Slip. Then proceed to ECU's official portal to pay the acceptance fee (typically ₦30,000–₦60,000), upload required documents, and print your institutional clearance form for on-campus physical screening.

Can my admission be revoked after I appear on the list?

Yes. Provisional admissions can be withdrawn if: (1) your O'Level results do not match what you declared during JAMB registration, (2) your JAMB result is found to have been obtained through malpractice, (3) you fail to accept on CAPS within the stipulated deadline, or (4) your acceptance fee is not received within the payment window.
