The Police Services Division of the City of Coquitlam is looking for auxiliary typists and transcriptionists at this time (Clerk Typist-Operations).

To round out our team, we are looking for individuals who are trustworthy, self-starters, and have a great eye for and attention to detail.
You will be expected to verify and revise assignments for spelling and grammatical issues, as well as create routine communication with a high degree of correctness if you want to be successful in this position. You will be required to type and process a variety of forms and papers.
You will type a variety of papers such as verbatim statements, communications, records, reports, and court and legal documents based on electronic audio equipment, copy, rough draft, or vocal directions. These documents include court and legal documents.
It is expected that you have completed all of your studies through the 12th grade, and any additional coursework in office administration or business would be considered a benefit.
A familiarity with and expertise dealing with the many programs that make up the Microsoft Office suite, as well as some level of previous experience using PRIME and CPIC software, are both regarded valuable benefits.
Because of the nature of this role, the ideal applicant will have the ability to prioritize work assignments and will be able to listen to and transcribe remarks that may contain explicit or violent content while remaining comfortable.
A competitive benefits package is included in addition to the pay range of $24.88 – $29.13 per hour (2022 rates) that is offered for this CUPE position.
This job requires work on Mondays through Sundays between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm (depending on operational requirements).

There is a vaccination policy in place for the City, but it is now on hold. On the other hand, if the policy is brought back into effect, it will once again be a necessity for all employees, both existing and prospective.

A valid driver’s license from the province of British Columbia that demonstrates safe driving is required as well.
