The Opportunity
In order to provide assistance for a developing program in Port Hope, Ontario, WSP E&I Canada Limited is looking to hire a Construction Site Supervisor.
This position will provide assistance to a high-energy team of project professionals in support of significant construction projects spanning several business sectors.
Please be aware that although we will consider individuals based in a variety of places around the province of Ontario, the primary location for this post will need to be at the project site in Port Hope, Ontario.

A day in the life
- Carry out the projects while adhering to the timeline, budget, quality, and safety standards.
- Take charge of the day-to-day work in the field to make sure it complies with the specifications and drawings.
- In order to guarantee the success of the project, you will need to manage the field labor pool in addition to the necessary equipment, subcontractors, and supplies.

- Mentor the staff at the location to ensure that a culture of safety is preserved.
- In collaboration with the project manager, offer assistance in filling open positions for qualified field resources when they become available.

- Make sure that all of the mandatory H&S compliance training and operating staff training is finished.
- Concerning Health and Safety
- Take an active role in the development of a culture of health and safety on the job site, while setting a good example.
- Engage in active participation at Operations Meetings and assume leadership of Morning Tailgate Meetings
- Examine the accidents and near-misses, and then provide any necessary advice.
- Conduct site inspections while demonstrating leadership in health and safety.
- The carrying out of the project:
- Contribute to the process of hazard identification.
- Ensure pre-job requirements such as locates, licenses, permits etc. are in place.
- Ensure that subcontractor prequalifications are stored in the appropriate location.
- Ensure that the necessary resources, including labor, equipment, tools, and materials, are managed effectively.
- Examine the plans and specifications to make certain that the work being done satisfies the requirements of the project.
