Passenger Car Cleaner (General Worker) positions are presently open at our Vancouver Station at VIA Rail Canada Inc.,

which is Canada’s national passenger rail service.

You will be responsible for cleaning the interior as well as the outside of passenger railway vehicles if you are hired as a General Worker.

Number of positions to be filled : 8

You will be responsible for tasks such as vacuuming and washing the carpets, wiping down tables and chairs, rearranging the seating arrangement, cleaning the restrooms, and cleaning the windows (interior & exterior).

You will also be responsible for emptying and refilling reservoirs that hold potable water and emptying reservoirs that have waste water retention.

You are need to have the ability to work outside in any kind of weather.

SCHEDULE:

This is a position that requires a person to be there full time.

You are need to be able to work any shift, whether it be throughout the day, the evening, or the night, as well as weekends and holidays (schedules are attributed by seniority).

SALARY:

Hourly salary: $28.94/H
Evening shift differential: $0.75/H
Night shift differential: $1.00/H

Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma from High School or its Equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Capable of lifting weights of up to 23 kg in range (50 lbs.)
• Maintain a flexible approach to your job schedule.
• Maintain a focus on both quality and results.
• Capable of working effectively in a group setting.
• posses skills in the mechanical arts (trade an asset)
