How It Works
Choose a source type, enter the author(s) (as 'Last, First', separated by semicolons for multiple authors), year, title, and the fields relevant to that source type (e.g. journal name, volume, and issue for a journal article). The tool applies APA 7th edition rules: author surnames with initials only, the publication year in parentheses, an ampersand before the final author for 2-20 authors, and source-specific punctuation and ordering for websites, books, and journal articles.

How do I enter multiple authors?+
Type each author as 'Last, First' and separate multiple authors with a semicolon, e.g. 'Okafor, John; Musa, Tersoo'. The generator applies APA's rules for joining 2, 3-20, or 21+ authors automatically.
What if I don't have a publication year?+
Leave the Year field blank and the citation will use 'n.d.' (no date), which is the standard APA placeholder for undated sources.
Does this generator handle in-text citations too?+
No — this tool generates the full reference-list entry only. For an in-text citation, use the author's surname and year, e.g. (Okafor, 2024), which you form manually from the same details you entered here.
