How It Works

You choose a field of study from a curated list of common Nigerian-university faculties, plus an optional theme or keyword. The tool combines these with well-known academic title-framing patterns used in research writing — for example 'The Impact of X on Y: A Study of Z' or 'An Assessment of X in the Context of Y' — to produce a set of candidate titles. This is entirely rule-based (no AI is involved): the same field, theme, and pattern always combine the same way, and clicking 'Shuffle' rotates through a wider pool of the same patterns for more variety.

These are starting-point suggestions generated from generic academic patterns, not approved or vetted topics — your topic must still be reviewed and approved by your supervisor or department.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these approved research topics I can just submit?+

No. These are brainstorming suggestions built from generic title patterns — they are a starting point, not vetted or approved topics. You must still refine your chosen topic and get it approved by your supervisor or department before proceeding.

Can I edit the generated topics?+

Yes, and you should. Treat each suggestion as a rough draft — adjust the wording, narrow the scope (e.g. add a specific location, time period, or population), and make sure it reflects a question you can actually research with the data and time available to you.

What if my exact field isn't in the list?+

Pick the closest related field from the list — the underlying title patterns are general enough to adapt to most subject areas. You can also enter a specific theme or keyword to steer the topic closer to your actual area of interest.

How is this different from the Project Topic Generator?+

This tool is phrased for general research topics (e.g. for term papers, seminars, or postgraduate research), using patterns like 'The Impact of X on Y'. The Project Topic Generator uses patterns more typical of undergraduate final-year projects, like 'Design and Implementation of X'.
